      Last Will and Testament of Daniel Gould, Sr.

      State of North Carolina, Anson County

      I Daniel Gould Sr., being unwell but in sound mind and memory, knowing that all men must die, do make, ordain and constitute this my last will and testament in manner following:

      Item: I lend all my estate both real and personal for and during her natural life, to my well beloved wife Jamia Gould and after her death it is my desire that all my estate both real and personal shall be sold at twelve months credit and when the money is collected for the land the average price of one hundred acres to be given to my son Daniel in order to make him compensation for one hundred acres of land which I give to my son Malachi Gould.

      Item: All the rest of my money that is left to be equally divided between my son Daniel Gould, and my three grand sons, Daniel Gould, John May Gould, and William Pemberton Gould, to them and their heirs forever.

      Item: It is my will and desire that my grandsons receive their legacies as they become of age.

      Item: I nominate, constitute and appoint my three trusty friends, James H. Martin, John Smith, Esqr., & John Pearson my Executors of this my last will and testament, revoking all former wills, declaring this my last Will & testament.  In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal, this 14th day of July in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and twenty-seven and fifty first and second of the Independence of America.

      Additional Notes:

      Daniel Gould, William Pemberton Gould and John May Gould were sons of Malachi Gould. Malachi migrated to present day Greene County, AL in 1819 where Malachi died ca 1821. Daniel, John May & William Pemberton Gould moved from Green to Sumter County, AL ca 1840 or earlier. All were residents of Sumter Co., AL at the time of their deaths.
