I am looking for (---then ----) this week to stay with us a while. When did uncle James Davidson die & what was the matter with him,and what in (Will s an). Is uncle James Shortridge alive you did not say. I wrote a letter to him in 1868 & addressed it to Calhoon. Supposed some of you would see him when you do ( ) Millie ask him if he remembers the fight her & I had on the way from school. I would like very much to see you & if I can I will come out and (see you) some or all come & see us. How far do you live from (Hinard davidson) & ask aunt if she (bn hill Mo) any thing about the (Kanal) sons. Where I used to go so much on green river about 3 miles from when you lived when I was their. Times are very hard (and) at present infact, have (aunt for shrceh yarns) & no prospect of getting better. I would go to Kansas if I could get away from here and probably would not better myself but could do no worse. Do you folks ever anything of the McCrackens up in (rueid) county. I wrote them several times & got no answer so thought them all dead. Write me and tell me all about the relatives & where they are. What became of George Davidson I mean uncle. I will tell you in my next where I heard of him & uncle James last but it has been a long time since it was 1862. Tell everybody to write & I will do the same. Tell Milley I am sorry that I have not had an opertunity before this to ask her pardon (but-rve rven) all small and would (griavel) & fight like all children do when you write tell me ( ) and be sure and write soon .

Good luck to you and all the family. I was down to Jefferson City last winter for 3 months and in conversation with one of the Ewings I told him of some of my relatives but he could not place any of them. I know he was a distant relative but did not want to press the case on him. I also have a relative at Hanable, Mo. J. F. Davidson can you tell when Young Ewing Davidson went to I believe this J. F.
