EATONTON, Ga. - Eugene Sargent Hoopes III age 75 of Eatonton passed away Friday, Jan. 13, 2012. Services will be conducted Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012 at 3 pm in Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Eatonton with Rev. John McMillan officiating. Mr. Hoopes was a native of Ohio and had made his home in Eatonton for a number of years. He was an Antique Dealer. Survivors include his sons Eugene Sargent Hoopes IV and Brett (Kaia) Hoopes of Golden, Colorado; brother Davidson Hoopes of Eatonton; Sister Nancy (Sandy) Morris of Green Cove Springs, FL; 1 grandchild and his dog Freckles. Mr. Hoopes attended Trinity University in Texas and also Choee and North Western college. He started the first water ski school in Ft. Launderdale Fla. He liked collecting antiques and also coins and owned a Construction Co. in Colorado. He loved his grandson and his neighbors. MILLEDGEVILLE — Eugene Sargent Hoopes III, 75, of Eatonton, passed away Friday, Jan. 13, 2012. Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012, in Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Eatonton with the Rev. John McMillan officiating.
Mr. Hoopes was a native of Ohio and had made his home in Eatonton for a number of years. He was an antique dealer.
Survivors include his sons, Eugene Sargent Hoopes IV and Brett (Kaia) Hoopes of Golden, Colo.; brother, Davidson Hoopes of Eatonton; sister, Nancy (Sandy) Morris of Green Cove Springs, Fla.; one grandchild, and his former wife, Betty Hoopes of Augusta.

BRISTOL, Conn., Dec. 24. -- Mr. and Mrs. Dewitt Page of Bristol have announced the engagement of their daughter, Miss Nan Page, to E. Sargent Hoopes Hr., don of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene S. Hoopes of Beaver, Pa.
Miss Page was graduated from Dana Hall, Wellesley, Mass., in 1927 and the Finch School in New York in 1929. Mr. Hoopes was graduated from the Pennsylvania Military College in 1927 and from the Harvard Graduate School in Business Administration in 1929.

BRISTOL, Conn., June 17. -- Miss Nan Page, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dewitt Page of Bristol, was married this evening in the First Congregational Church, Bristol, to E. Sargent Hoopes, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene S. Hoopes of Beaver, Pa. The Rev. Francis T. Cook performed the ceremony, which was followed by a large reception at the Endee Club of Bristol.
Miss Marjorie Koster of New York was maid of honor and Mrs. J. Wellington Palmer of Bay Shore, L. I., matron of honor. The other attendants were Miss Katherine Moore of Bristol, Mrs. Samuel Evans of Philadelphia, Mrs. Joseph P. Binns of Atlantic City, N.J.; Miss Nellie Throckmorton of Beaver, Pa., and Mrs. Janet Page of Hartford, Conn.
