    • A wedding of interest is that of Miss Mary Elizabeth Hackney, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Jacob Black Hackney, of Uniontown, and Lieutenant William Johnston Davidson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Davidson of North Pittsburg street, solemnized this afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Third Presbyterian chuuch of Uniontown. Rev. E. A. Hodil, the pastor, officiated. Only the immediate families and a few intimate friends of the bride and bridegroom were included in the guest list. There were no attendants. The bride wore her traveling suite of darl blue cloth and a corsage bouguet of yellow orchids and roses. Immediately after the ceremony an informal reception was held in the home of the bride in Church street. Mrs. Davidson was educated at the Kent School place, Summit, N. J., and is a prominent member of the younger social set of Uniontown. She is also well known in Connellsville. Lieutenant Davidson is one of the most widely known young men of Connellsville. He was graduated from Princeton, a member of the class of 1908 and previous to entering military service he was chief engineer for the Davidson Coal and Coke company, near Port Marion. Within the last week he was discharged from the United States Army, having been stationed at Camp Humphries, Va., with the Second Engineers' Training regiment which has just been mustered out. Lieutenant and Mrs. Davidson left this afternoon for a two weeks' honymoon trip, returning home before Christmas. Among the out of town guests at the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Davidson, parents of the bridegroom, Mrs. James B. Hogg and Mrs. Eastman Hackney of Connellsville and Mrs. Harry Mitchell of Pittsburg, a sister of Lieutenant Davidson. Today's is the thrid wedding in the bride's family within the year. December 1, 1917, Captain Eastman Hackney of the 327th Regiment of the 82nd Division, stationed in France, was married to Miss Elizabeth Pendleton of this city, and on February 11, 1918, Miss Virginia Hackney was married in Uniontown to Lieutenat William Wright Tanney, a member of the 28th Aero Squadron and, since his capture by the Germans, has been in an unknown prison camp. In addition to her elder brother and brother-in-law, Mrs. Davidson has in service overseas her younger brother, Sergeant Sidwell Hackney.

    • Virginia W. Davidson Wed at Home Ceremony to Lieutenat William D. Shields, Jr., Sewickley

The lovely setting was a blue and white color motif predominating Miss Virginia Woodbury Davidson, daughter of Mrs. and Mrs. William Johnston Davidson of 107 West Fayette street became the bride of Lieutenant William Dickinson Shields, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. William Dickinson Shields of Sewickley, Saturday afternoon in the home of the bride.

Rev. Harry R Roach, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, read the ring service at 4:30 o'clock before the living room fireplace which was blanketed with huckleberry and flanked with staely cibotium ferns. Bouquets of white larkspur carnations, pompon asters and baby breath decorated the mantel. Blue delphinium and other summer flowers were arranged throughout the house.

John Kiferle, violinist, and Henry Ruill, pianist, played Wagner's wedding march from Lohengrin and the bridal party came into the living room.

Given in marriage by her father, the attractive bride wore a white eyelet embroidered gown styled with a fitted bodice, a sweetheart neckline three-quarter length sleeves and an extremely full ruffled skirt which terminated in a slight train. Her fingertip veil of tulle was draped from a heart-shaped halo to match her gown, and she carried an all-white old-fashioned Colonial bouquet of larkspur carnations and stephanotis centered with an orchid, and encircled with frills of net.

Miss Margaret Davidson, her sister's maid of honor, was gowned in white organdy embroidered in pink eyelets and the brides, Miss Amelia Shields, sister of the bridegroom and Miss Carolyn Dick were attired in white organdy embroidered in pastel blue eyelets. All of the full-skirted gowns were fashioned alike, with tight bodices, square necklines edged with narrow ruffling and short puffed sleeves. Their white organdy off-the-face hats harmonized with their gowns and their bouquests were designed like the bride's Miss Davidson's flowers were pink larkspur and pink roses, edged with blue net friills.

Leet Shields of Sewickley was his brother's best man.

A reception supplemented the ceremony. Beautiful all-white appointments were carried out at the bridal table which was centered with a three-tiered wedding cake embellished with a diminutive bride and bridegroom. On either side were white Colonial baskets filled with white flowers. About eighty guests attended.

A member of one of Connellsville's prominent families, the bride is well known socially. She was graduated from Shipley School at Bryn Mawr and Connecticut College for Women at New London, Conn.

The bridegroom who was graduated from Mercersburg Academy and Lehigh University at Bethlehem is with the Ordnance Department at Pittsburgh.

Lieutenant and Mrs. Shields left for a short wedding trip. For travelling, the bride chose a yellow print dress with accessories to correspond, and an orchid corsage.

The couple will reside for the present with Lieutenant Shields' grandmother Mrs. Arthur L. Wagner of Male Lane, Shields.
