TAYLORSVILLE - Mrs. Lois Kerley Wike, 91, homemaker, died April 27, 1989, at Alexander County Hospital. Funeral is 3 p.m. today at Mount Hebron Baptist Church.
Survivors are her sons, Henry Wike, Curlee Wike, Atlee Wike, Burpee Wike, Kenneth Wike, Jasper Wike; daughters, Mrs. Arlene Mason of Ohio, Mrs. Lona Belle Bishop, Mrs. Lottie Bentley; sister, Mrs. Ocie Bentley.

Obituary:
Nell Rose Kerley Stafford, 85, of Taylorsville, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2011, at her residence.
Born September 3, 1925, in Alexander County, daughter of the late Herman T. Kerley and Dico Daniels Kerley, she was an active member of Mt. Herman Baptist Church. She retired from Clayton-Marcus and was a beautician in later life.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Stafford; a daughter, Linda Dean Stafford; and a nephew, Danny Ray Carrigan.
Nell Rose is survived by a sister, Faye Carrigan; a nephew, Jerry Carrigan and fianc?e Jeanie Godfrey; a great-niece and great-nephew, Vanessa Harris and Nick Carrigan; and a special friend, Julia Godfrey, all of Taylorsville. Mrs. Stafford also has a number of great- nieces and nephews. She will be remembered by special friends, Clyde and Mary Ellen Herman and family.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, April 25, 2011, at Mt. Herman Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Schronce officiating. Burial? followed in the church cemetery.

Obituary:
Edward Herman Kerley, 63, of Charlotte, died Sunday, April 20, 2008.
He was born in Alexander County in 1944, the son of the late Edward Howard Kerley and Edith Elder Kerley.
A graduate of Harding High School, he attended Central Piedmont Community College. After spending thirty years in the telecommunication industry, initially with Mid-South Consulting Engineers, Inc., and later with ALLTEL Communications, he retired in 2001. Mr. Kerley was also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force Reserve.
Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Hadley Kerley; two sons, Scott Kerley and Chris Kerley and their families, all of Union County; three sisters, Bennye King of Marion, S.C., Phyllis Duke of Charlotte, and Brenda Davis of Garner; two stepsons, Neil Hadley and Jeff Hadley and their families; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at the McEwen Funeral Home Pineville Chapel with Clyde Kerley officiating.

Obituary:
Lillian Wike Childers, age 89, of Taylorsville, died Tuesday, December 28, 2004, at Iredell Memorial Hospital in Statesville.
She was born in Alexander County May 20, 1915, the daughter of the late Vermon Wike and Lola Kerley Wike.
She was a member of Mt. Hebron Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David V. Childers; an infant daughter; one brother, Gaither Wike; and a son-in-law, Aaron Killian.
Survivors include one son, Gary Childers and wife Ruby of Taylorsville; two daughters, Jeanette Combs and husband Sevon of Union Grove and Helen Killian of Conover; two sisters, Dessie Davidson and Stella Davidson, both of Taylorsville; two brothers, Jonie Wike and wife Clara and Waitsel Wike and wife Ruth, all of Taylorsville; a sister-in-law, Alma Wike of Taylorsville; one grandson, Garett Childers and wife Amy of Taylorsville; three granddaughters, Tamara Lee and husband Mark of Newton, Beverly Elder and husband Ricky of Taylorsville, and Nicole Russell and husband Mark of Hiddenite; seven great-grandchildren, Clay and David Lee of Newton, Landis, Lauren, and Lacey Elder of Taylorsville, and Alivia and Alexis Russell of Hiddenite; and a number of special nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, December 31, 2004, at Mt. Hebron Baptist Church with Rev. Anthony Wike, Rev. Horace Moree and Rev. Perry Link officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Pallbearers included Dale Davidson, Paul Davidson, Michael Wike, Steve Wike, Ronnie Wike, and Dennis Wike.

Stella Wike Davidson, age 83, of Hwy. 16 North, Taylorsville, died Saturday, January 8, 2005, at Brian Center East in Hickory.
She was born in Alexander County December 23, 1921, the daughter of the late Vernon Wike and Lola Kerley Wike.
She was a retired housekeeper at Valley Nursing Center and was a member of Mt. Hebron Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Franklin Davidson; two sons, Steve Davidson and Dewayne Davidson; one daughter, Loretta Davidson; one sister, Lillian Wike Childers; and one brother, Gaither Wike. Survivors include two sons, Dale Davidson and wife Diane, and Keith Davidson and wife Pam, all of Taylorsville; one sister, Dessie Davidson of Taylorsville; two brothers, Waitsel Wike and wife Ruth, and Jonie Wike and wife Clara, all of Taylorsville; a sister-in-law, Alma Wike of Taylorsville; five grandchildren, Brian Davidson and wife Dia, Greg Davidson and wife Amanda, Joel Levan and wife Jessica, Tracy Shook and husband Charles, Jeremy Davidson and fiancee Autumn Robinson, all of Taylorsville; five great-grandchildern, Beau, Dawson, and Ethan Davidson, and Tyler and Casey Shook, all of Taylorsville; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, January 11, 2005, at Mt. Hebron Baptist Church with Rev. Anthony Wike and Rev. Greg Davidson officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Michael Wike, Ronnie Wike, Dennis Wike, Steve Wike, Paul Davidson, and Gary Childers.

Lona Belle Bishop
Lona Belle Bishop, age 86, of Vashti Road, Taylorsville, widow of Ralph Milton Bishop, died Saturday, June 24, 2006, at Wilkes Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Bishop was born in Alexander County February 14, 1920, the daughter of the late Charlie Wike and Lois Kerley Wike. She was a member of Mt. Hebron Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Henry Wike, Kenneth Wike, and Curlee Wike.
Mrs. Bishop is survived by two sisters, Lottie Bentley of Taylorsville and Arlene Mason of Ohio; three brothers, Burpee Wike, Atlee Wike, and Jasper Wike, all of Taylorsville; and a number of nieces and nephews
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, June 27, 2006, at Mt. Hebron Baptist Church with the Rev. Horace Moree and Rev. Al Childress officiating. Burial followed in Scenic Memorial Gardens in Wilkesboro.
