This letter had been transcribed and posted on the Tennkin.com site and was saved in 2009 and supplied to me by Kenneth Rickett in October 2018. This site no longer seems to be extant.
This letter provides many valuable insights on the McLean and Davidson families but it has several provable errors. None the less, it is a useful testimony to the early history of these families.

This marriage is also listed as taking place in 1760. That is not possible as Robert Hall would only have been 11 at that time. But further the text has two clues about when this took place. First, it is listed as "State of No. Carolina". That would put it at after the Revolution. Second it mention "Alexander Martin Esquire Governor NC". He was governor from 22 April 1782 to 13 May 1785 and also 17 December 1789 to 14 December 1792. Further, this was from a collection of Rowan county, North Carolina bonds.
The Hall Family HIstory claims that the Rev. Robert Hall married Mrs. Mary Warson, and, after Robert died in 1787, she married Hugh Reed.
As Robert Hall was called to serve in South Carolina about 1785 and Iredell county was not formed (from Rowan) in 1788, we should assume that this bond was done during his first term.
