  	MOORESVILLE - Sallie Brevard Davidson Johnson, 88, died on July 24, 1999. She was a native of the Gilead area of Mecklenburg County, but moved to Mooresville, NC as a child. She was the daughter of the late Egbert Harper Davidson and Lucia Turnipseed Davidson. She attended schools in Huntersville and Mooresville and graduated from Woman's College, Greensboro, NC. After teaching briefly in Gastonia and Raeford, she headed the Histology Department of General Biological Supply in Chicago for many years. Since retirement she has made her home in Mooresville, where she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Jennings Johnson. She is survived by a sister, Jane Violet Davidson of Mooresville; a brother, James Owens Davidson of Brevard, NC; a nephew, James Efird Davidson of Durham, NC; a niece, Luicia Davidson Russom of Leyden, MA; three great nephews; and one great niece. A graveside service will be at 11 AM Monday, July 26, 1999 at the Davidson Family Burial Grounds in Rural Hill, conducted by Dr. Fred A. Coates, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Mooresville. Memorials may be directed to First Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 249 W. McLelland Ave., Mooresville, NC 28115. Cavin Funeral Home, Mooresville is serving the family of Mrs. Johnson.
