    • Mrs. Emma "Erline" Davidson was born March 11, 1909, in Ovett, MS, the daughter of the late William Marvin and Nancy Olivia Madison Jones. She was the fourth of ten children. She came to West Point in 1933 from Shuqualak. She died peacefully Friday, June 20, 2014, at the distinguished age of 105 in her loving home in West Point, a home built for her by her beloved husband, sweetheart, and best friend, Randolph Davidson, who she married May 22, 1938, in West Point and he preceded her in death on March 14, 1995. To try and describe the amazing giant like heart that found its' home in this tiny, precious lady almost becomes impossible. If you knew her at all, you loved her, and I assure you, she would have loved you. The hearts and lives she has touched through the literally 100 years and more that she has walked among us is immeasurable. From her meticulous attention to her clients during her years as a beautician at the Mari-Nita Beauty Salon, to the beloved and adoring wife that she was to her sweetheart Randolph, to her sisters that she faithfully cared for through long illnesses, to all the nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews, whose lives she sure brought incredible joy to, even in her last days, and to the friends she held so dear, who were her companions until the end, having coffee and decorated cupcakes in the last days of her life. No one could have been more loved, more loving, or more lovable that our precious Erline. Although she and Randolph had no children of their own, you would have never known it by the refrigerator covered in a multitude of photos of beautiful, sweet, young, smiling faces that brought her tremendous joy. We cannot begin to thank all who loved her and helped her through the last years. She was ready to be with her sweetheart and the love of her life, Randolph and she was at peace as she slipped away into the arms of her Lord God, who was her guiding light throughout her lifetime. She was a member of First Christian Church. Although many are to be thanked from the bottom of our hearts, her guardian angels, Candi Woods, Liz Butler, and Anna Davis are forever and ever in our debt for the wonderful love she was given these past few years. The quality of care was unsurpassed. She leaves us for now, but until we see you again, our love goes with you.

Funeral services will be Sunday, June 22, 2014, at 4:00 P.M. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend J.C. Hubbard officiating and assisted by Reverend Kirby Lloyd. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in West Point. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include more than a score of nieces and nephews and other extended family. Preceding her in death were sisters: Ruby Henry and Bertha Taylor.

Pallbearers will be Mark Randle, Mort Stroud, Van Williams, Gene Fowler, Jeffrey Jones, and Jason Jones.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Joe Wray and Bobby Wooten.

Memorials may be made to First Christian Church, P. O. Box 208, West Point, MS 39773 or to Palmer Home for Children, P. O. Box 746, Columbus, MS 39701.
