| Notes |
- From: Family of John Springs III:
A Highland Scotchman by the name of Robert Davidson emigrated first to Northern Ireland. The oppressions and persecutions, however, to which he was there subjected decided him to join the tide of emigration and seek freedom in America. Upon his arrival there he settled at a place called "Chestnut Level", Pennsylvania. At this place he met and married Isabella Ramsey, issue, two children John and May Davidson.
The career of Robert (or Robin) Davidson was cut short, by his death in the early dawn of his manhood, being only twenty-seven years of age. Isabella Ramsey, his widow, then with their two children, John and Mary, removed south and located on the east side of the Yadkin River, beyond Salisbury, North Carolina about 1740.
From: Davidson Genealogy by Robert Stephen Hand, 1992
Robert came from Scotland to America in January 1729 in the "Deliverance of Glasgow". He lived at Chestnut Level, PA.
