- Seek to Change Guardians For Wealthy Youth
Philip James Davidson, Ordered to Pay 11-Day Bride Summ of $500 Monthly
(International News Service)
BEAVER, Pa., Sept. 10.-- A petition asking for a change of guardians for 20-year-old Philip James Davidson, wealthy society youth, paying his estranged wife $500 a month for support, was filed in Beaver county court today.
A custodian of Davidson's estate, estimated at about $1,500,000, the Commonwealth Trust Company petitioned for the dismissal as guardians of Theodore F. Smith, Davidson's step-father, and Herbert A. May, his uncle.
Smith, secretary of the Oliver Iron and Steel Company, and May, a wealthy Pittsburgh socialite, were appointed by orphans court after Davidson's father died in action in the World War. The Commonwealth Trust alleged the guardians have not filled bond as directed. The guardians have until September 21 to file answers.
Davidson eloped with Dorothy Logan Moore, daughter of an Eminence, Ky., dry goods store proprietor last March. After an 11-day honeymoon, the couple separated and early this month Davidson was ordered to pay his 11-day bride $500 a month for support.

- Philip Davidson Will Marry Again
Young Pittsburgh Heir to Vast Fortune, Will Wed Cleveland Girl
First Marriage Went on Rocks
(International News Service)
PITTSBURGH, Jan. 31 -- Philip James Davidson, heir to a fortune in steel, who was rpeported to have settled $200,000 on his first wife, today was altar bound again.
Davidson, 22, who will inherit $700,000 when he is 30, is engaged to marry Lora Margaret Weidner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Charles Weidner of the exclusive Moreland courts residential district of Cleveland, O.
No wedding date has been set.
Davidson, who lives in Lark mansion and the Davidson mansion in Patterson Heights, Beaver Falls, was divorced last August from Dorothy Logan Moore Davidson, 21. They were married after a "love-at-first-sight" romance on the campus of the University of Kentucky, where both were students. The marriage went on the rocks after only 11 days, after the two had eloped to "keep down any fuss."
Left in Huff
Then young Mrs. Davidson, whose father J. C. Moore was a storekeeper in Eminence, Ky., with an income of about $1,000 a year charged that Davidson left her in a huff.
"I had taken him home," she testified ina divorce hearing. "Mother met him with open arms. After we had supper, he announced he was going to Lexington and then told me he didn'y love me and never had."
Dorothy came to Pittsburgh to attend the University of Pittsburgh and when she filed for divorce Davidson was ordered to pay her $500 a month until the divorce was granted and the settlement arranged.
Davidson inherited $400,000 when his father, an aviator, was killed in the World War. His grandmother, Mrs. J. J. Davidson, was made his guardian.

- Cupid Foils Traffic Court as Steel Heir is Married
Phillip James Davidson's name was called in Traffic Court today but the heir to a million-dollar steel fortune when he becomes 30 (in eight years) didn't answer.
Patrolman William Rothrauth, the cause of young Davidson's scheduled appearance, told Magistrate Anthony Lucas he wasn't surprised at his absence.
"He was parked in front of a jewelry store at Sixth and Wood last Friday with a 1937 inspection sticker on the car." said the officer, "but when I told him to show up her Monday he said he was going to be married Saturday and wouldn't be able to make it.
Magistrate Lucas obligingly marked the case postponed until Mr. Davidson can get back from his honeymoon.
The youth, son of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore F Smith of Park Mansions and Beaver Falls, was married in Cleveland Saturday to Lora Margaret Weidner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Charles Weidner.
He was divorced last August by his first wife, with whom he eloped after an 11-day romance in the University of Kentucky campus. His first wife Dorothy Moore herself a Kentucky belle was reported given a settlement of $200,000.
