    Notes:

William (Lee) Davidson was born in 1755 or maybe 1760 (according to the Hand genealogy).  He was the son of Col. George Davidson and Catharine Penelope Reese.  He married Mary (Polly) Dickey, daughter of John Dickey and Rachel Tanner in 1782.

There is some confusion about this individual in the literature.  One source gave his birthplace as Lancaster Co., PA in 1761.  Some sources give the middle name Lee, others do not; George Davidson's will omits the Lee.  Also, an improbable marriage date of 10 Dec 1767 in Iredell Co. is also quoted in some source.

However these dates are resolved, the existence of a son William is not in doubt as he is referenced in several existing documents, along with the offspring.

Unto my two daughters Emilia and Rachel I leave each of them if circumstances of my estate will admit thereof as much as either of my married daughters has got, at the discretion of their mother and my Executors.

Unto my sons, Reece Davidson, John Davidson, Abner Davidson, Ephraim Davidson and Samuel Davidson I leave a horse and bridle iif the circumstances of my estate will admit thereof against each of them arrives at the age of twenty one years, and my land I allow will be divided equally amongst each of them to the best advantage in quantity and quality and if one or either of my sons should decease before his or they become capable of inheriting the surviving son or sons is to share alike and alike of his or their shares of my land.  I further allow the residue of my property after my just debts are sold to be kept in my family for their better maintenance and support until my youngest children become capable of inheriting at which time I allow the residue of property to be disposed of to the best advantage at the discretion of my Executors and to be then equally divided among my then survivinig children.
