• Notes

  Edwin Blackburn "Dock" Davidson was a Medical Doctor. There is a family legend that he was with Sam Houston at the battle of San Jacinto and is listed on the San Jacinto monument.  He is believed to be the doctor shown treating Houston's foot in the mural painting depicting the scene after the battle, while Houston accepts Santa Anna's surrender.  Houston is lying under an the oak tree.  This was actually his cousin Dr. John Franklin Davidson.
