  Dr. William M. Sharp, born at Green Spring, in 1798; graduated at Dickinson College in 1815. He studied medicine under Dr. McCoskry, and received the degree of M. D. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1819; practiced in Newville until his death August 20, 1835.
